Insurance Industry Unites to Mark a Decade of Giving Back
The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation UK (IICF UK) celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2025 with a year of record-breaking generosity, volunteer action and renewed commitment to improving social mobility across the country.
Founded to bring the insurance sector together as a force for good, IICF has grown over the past decade into a powerful platform for collective impact. Since its launch, more than £3 million has been raised for charities supporting children and young people, with 8,000 lives touched and 38 organisations funded in 14 cities.
The anniversary year proved to be one of IICF UK’s most successful yet. Supporters raised over £200,000 through events including Capture the City, the Summer Social and the 10th Annual Gala Dinner. Volunteers across the industry contributed thousands of hours during the Week of Giving, while innovative individual challenges—from abseiling down Lloyd’s to walking 10km every day in October—added to the momentum.
A major focus of the year was tackling the literacy gap, recognised as a critical barrier to social mobility. Through the Creating Better Futures campaign, donors funded nearly 2,000 books for children in underserved communities and school libraries, helping young people build the confidence and skills they need to thrive.
IICF also shone a spotlight on diverse career pathways within insurance, sharing the stories of 11 industry leaders whose journeys demonstrate the transformative power of opportunity and resilience. These stories reinforced IICF UK’s mission to open doors for the next generation and ensure talent can flourish regardless of background.
Reflecting on the milestone year, Executive Director Wendy Wilder thanked the industry for its unwavering support:
“On behalf of IICF and the Board, thank you for making our 10th anniversary a truly remarkable year. These incredible contributions will enable us to continue strengthening communities and delivering meaningful impact for children and young people across the country.”
To mark the anniversary, IICF UK has produced a special 10th Anniversary Report celebrating the journey of the past decade. The report brings to life the charities supported, the volunteers who gave their time and the industry partnerships that have made such impact possible. It offers readers a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when an entire sector unites behind a shared purpose—and why that commitment remains so vital for the future. To learn more about the impact of the past ten years and the ambitions ahead, you can download the 10th Anniversary Report and discover how the industry’s collective effort is transforming lives.
As IICF UK enters its second decade, we are inviting more companies and individuals to be part of the next chapter—through volunteering, fundraising and partnerships that will help create better futures for our communities nationwide.
