Women's Inclusive Team
IICF is proud to support Women’s Inclusive Team (WIT), a small charity making a big impact for ethnic minority communities in Tower Hamlets through youth programmes, women’s empowerment projects, mental health support and its food bank and community kitchen.
Grants awarded by IICF have allowed Women’s Inclusive Team to people in a variety of ways:
- Successfully delivered the Developing Potential Project Horumar (meaning succeed, develop and achieve in Somali) to reduce the digital divide: Somali speaking advisors offered advice to help women fill out job applications, write CVs and look for work and volunteering opportunities on-line.
- Developed a food and hygiene safety course, with bitesize modules in Somali, empowering 21 women to earn the Food Safety and Hygiene Catering Level 2 certificate and enhance their IT skills.
- Gave 10 young girls an opportunity to attend a career workshop hosted by Amwins Global Risks to gain insight into a career in the insurance industry
