Key4Life – helping to reduce youth offending
Each month we recognise one of IICF’s grant recipient charities by sharing our Story of Impact. This month, we’re proud to feature Key4Life, an innovative and remarkable charity that rehabilitates young people and provides real solutions to help reduce youth offending.
In 2024, funding from IICF enabled two young men to complete Key4Life’s Through the Gate Scheme and, in turn, transition from HMP Thameside prison to a productive and positive life outside. A total of 21 young men have taken part in the programme to-date. Six have since been released and three are successfully employed and remain engaged with Key4Life.

Since 2017, IICF grants have helped over 80 young men graduate from Key4Life’s employability programmes. Many have secured jobs while others have certified as mentors in order to help hundreds of other young men onto a new positive path. What’s more, we’ve had success in introducing Key4Life alumni to work in the insurance industry, sparking a 6-year partnership with KPMG, one of our founding partners.
