Every Youth – Helping achieving potential

Did you know that more than 118,000 young people aged 16-25 faced homelessness last year, up by 10% on the previous year?

EveryYouth is working to change this.

The EveryYouth Employed programme addresses the unique challenges faced by homeless young people by equipping them with the skills, support and tools they need to secure sustainable employment and achieve independent living.

IICF grants have helped to fund this long-running and impactful project for 2½ years – providing tailored, one-to-one employability support through two delivery partners: 1625 Independent People in Bristol and Roundabout in Sheffield:

  • In Bristol, funding enabled the placement of an EET Coach who build strong relationships with local education providers and conducted regular reviews to help young people identify and overcome barriers and achieve their educational goals.
  • In Sheffield, Roundabout has helped young people secure employment in a range of sectors, including construction, retail, hair and beauty, and healthcare. A standout initiative is a soap-making social enterprise, which offers a 12-week, paid work placement at the living wage. Participants also receive weekly wellbeing support and follow-on guidance to transition into sustainable employment.

After completing the EveryYouth Employed programme:

“67% of young people feel more positive about the future, 78% are feeling more confident, and 67% report that they have improved employability skills.” – outcomes from the past quarter

Through these targeted interventions, and with the insurance industry’s backing, EveryYouth continues to create lasting change – helping young people overcome barriers and build brighter, more secure futures.
