Break – look to a brighter future
Break, a charity helping vulnerable children and young people in and leaving care to experience stability, build positive relationships and grow in confidence and look to a brighter future.
With IICF’s grant, Break delivered practical training sessions and 1:1 coaching in digital skills, enabling care-experienced young people to learn new skills, access job and education opportunities and move towards independence while realising their potential.
Through IICF’s grant, the organisation helped people to:
- Improve skills in using digital equipment and online platforms.
- Increased ability to access online training, job and education opportunities.
- Increased confidence to navigate online opportunities.
“We want to show people that we are all capable and not just the ‘care kids’ with no future, We have dreams and career goals that we want to make happen. Through Break, we’ve been lucky to have that lifelong commitment from the charity and we know that there will always be someone to help us. It’s just like having a family and more care leavers need that kind of support.”
