Insurance Industry Raises Valuable Funds to Improve Social Mobility
16th October 2025
£145,000 Raised at IICF’s 10-Year Gala Dinner
The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) UK raised nearly £145,000 at its 10th Anniversary Gala Dinner, held on 9 October 2025, marking a decade of uniting the insurance industry to improve social mobility and create better futures for people in need.
The event, hosted at Plaisterers’ Hall, brought together more than 250 insurance leaders from over 35 companies, highlighting the industry’s growing commitment to community impact and social responsibility.
Celebrating a Decade of Impact
Since its UK launch in 2015, IICF has raised over £3 million for social mobility charities, directly improving the lives of more than 8,000 people through access to education, employment, and new opportunities. Funds from this year’s gala will support Envision, EveryYouth, GoodWork, and Reach Out—organisations helping young people and adults overcome barriers to success.
Industry sponsors of the evening included Vitesse, The Hartford, AXA XL, Costero Brokers, and MedPro, whose contributions made this fundraising milestone possible.
Recognising Industry Leaders
During the evening, Phillip McGriskin, CEO of Vitesse, presented the IICF’s “Above & Beyond” Awards to outstanding members of the foundation’s Associate Board:
Aran Banerjee (KPMG)
Octavia Cooper (RSA)
Rishi Sumra (Enstar Group)
McGriskin said:
“At Vitesse, we believe that doing the right thing should be a part of how we grow. Supporting the IICF is an extension of that belief, bringing trust, resilience, and connection into the communities around us. We’re proud to stand alongside our peers to create opportunities that empower people and drive lasting positive impact.”
A Focus on the Future
Guests at the gala also heard from Lucy Pryce, Head of Development at Making the Leap, and Nikita Vaghela, an ambassador for the charity, who shared first-hand stories of how IICF-supported programmes are transforming lives.
Reflecting on the milestone, Wendy Wilder, Executive Director of IICF UK, said:
“When we launched the IICF ten years ago, we chose to focus on social mobility—an area where we could help both people in local communities and the insurance industry itself become more diverse and socially responsible.
“What we’ve learnt is that our focus is here to stay, with social mobility even more important today than it was then. We’re deeply grateful to everyone who has supported us over the past decade and at this year’s Gala, as it’s these funds that allow us to continue creating real community impact.”
