IICF Volunteers Help Out at The Toy Project Ahead of International Volunteer Day
In the lead-up to International Volunteer Day on December 5th, a fantastic team of volunteers from Axco, Convex, The Hartford and Marsh joined IICF UK for a memorable and meaningful day of service at The Toy Project—a much-loved community charity based in Archway, London.
The Toy Project is dedicated to giving toys a second life. The charity collects, restores and regifts toys to children in need, while also running arts, Lego and storytelling workshops that encourage learning through play. Their work not only supports families but also promotes creativity, imagination and wellbeing for children across the community.
Rolling Up Our Sleeves for a Day of Impact
Together with the incredible staff at The Toy Project, 15 IICF volunteers spent the day sorting through mountains of Lego, Sylvanian Families sets, Barbies and more—preparing them for sale in the Toy Project Shop. These sales generate essential funds to keep the charity’s programmes running.
Thanks to the team’s enthusiasm and dedication, everything sorted during the day is expected to raise £1,827 for The Toy Project — directly supporting their workshops and outreach efforts.
A Day Filled With Fun, Teamwork and Purpose
The atmosphere was lively, positive and full of teamwork. Volunteers connected across companies and roles, sharing stories and a shared commitment to giving back.
The day served as a powerful reminder of the impact we can make when we come together with a common purpose. A huge thank you goes to The Toy Project team for their warm welcome, guidance and, above all, for the crucial work they do every single day to support children and families.
