IICF Step Up Challenge 2025: A Step Above for Charity!

The IICF Step Up Challenge 2025 has wrapped up, and we’re thrilled to celebrate the success of this year’s event—our biggest yet!

From 21 April to 18 May 2025, more than 4,000 participants representing 21 countries around the globe, joined in a friendly competition to see who could take the most steps, while raising vital funds to support children’s literacy programs in the UK and beyond. This year’s challenge, part of our 10th anniversary celebrations, brought together colleagues, friends, family, and clients to promote wellness, team spirit, and giving back.

We’re proud to share that the UK and EMEA teams raised an estimated £35,000, supporting charities that help close the literacy gap and empower children with essential reading skills and confidence. Since the Step Up Challenge began, our UK and international teams have collectively raised over £95,000 to meet specific community needs including closing the digital divide in 2021 and improving literacy for primary school children this year.

And the winners are…

🥈 Adam Smith from W/R/B Underwriting secured 2nd place in the Individual Challenge.
🥇 Chris Lockwood’s team from AXA XL claimed 1st place in the Team Challenge.

Congratulations to our champions and to everyone who stepped up and made a difference! Special recognition goes to Weightmans with 14 teams across the country. And let’s give a huge shoutout to Chubb, who inspired an incredible 70 teams to participate!

The Step Up Challenge is one of IICF’s most popular events, designed to inspire global participation, foster team building, and deliver meaningful impact to the communities we serve. Participants not only improved their fitness but also contributed to changing lives through literacy-focused grants. The winning individuals and teams will have the unique opportunity to designate an IICF grant to the charity of their choice.
