IICF expands with new Canadian division
30th June 2025
On 25 June 2025, The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) announced the launch of IICF Canada, its second international division, following its UK expansion a decade ago.
Sarah Gladki has been appointed Founding Executive Director, bringing extensive non-profit experience to the Toronto-based initiative. IICF Canada will focus on supporting local communities, with an initial emphasis on tackling food insecurity and helping at-risk children.
“IICF Canada is about uniting the insurance sector to create lasting community impact,” said Gladki. “We’re building on a strong legacy from our US and UK counterparts.”
The Canadian division is backed by a founding board featuring leaders from top insurers, including Lloyd’s, Allianz Commercial, CNA, Berkshire Hathaway, Markel, and Northbridge Financial. Marc Lipman, President of Lloyd’s Americas, serves as Founding Chair, with Sandra Henkel of Tokio Marine Canada advising.
IICF Canada follows in the footsteps of IICF UK, which has been active in the British insurance community since 2015 and is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
“It’s exciting to see IICF expand into another country,” said Wendy Wilder, Executive Director of IICF UK. “We look forward to collaborating with our Canadian colleagues to share ideas, amplify impact, and strengthen the insurance industry’s role in community giving.”
Founded in 1994, IICF has provided over $50 million in community grants and contributed $12 million in volunteer service across more than 1,000 charity partners across the United States and UK.
IICF Canada’s first fundraising event is planned for autumn. More details can be found at iicf.org or by contacting Sarah Gladki at sgladki@iicf.org.
