Get involved in IICF’s October Month of Giving
13th October 2026
What could your team achieve in just one day of volunteering?
With IICF’s Month of Giving under way, insurance professionals across the UK are being encouraged to give their time and skills to support local communities.
Throughout October 2026, the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) is bringing together people from across the insurance sector, offering opportunities to volunteer individually, with colleagues or alongside professionals from other businesses.
From helping at city farms and conservation sites to organising donation drives and mentoring young people, the programme offers a variety of ways to contribute, both in person and online. Whether participants can spare a few hours or a full day, every contribution can make a difference.
UK volunteers can help complete missing maps for humanitarian relief efforts, write letters to children in hospital through Post Pals, or host an office clothing drive to help people prepare for job interviews. Other opportunities include supporting local parks and community spaces, helping sort and distribute food, and sharing CV writing, interview and career skills with young people.
The UK programme forms part of a wider international effort, with insurance professionals across the US, UK and Canada taking part in Month of Giving. In the US, activities range from food drives and meal-packing events to painting and making repairs in older people’s homes. Together, these projects demonstrate how the industry’s time, expertise and resources can help meet local needs.
“Volunteering gives insurance professionals the chance to use their time, skills and energy to make a meaningful difference in their communities. It also brings colleagues together, builds connections and puts our industry’s commitment to helping others into action.
“At IICF, volunteering is central to our mission of bringing the insurance sector together to support communities. Month of Giving shows what we can achieve collectively, and we encourage everyone to get involved — whether for a few hours or a full day.” Wendy Wilder, IICF UK Executive Director.
Alongside supporting charities and community organisations, Month of Giving offers participants the chance to connect with causes that matter to them, use their skills to help others and work together towards a shared purpose.
Insurance professionals can explore projects through IICF’s UK volunteering portal and register individually or as a team. Where a charity requires direct registration, the portal provides links to its volunteering pages.
There is still time to get involved this October. Choose a cause, bring your colleagues together and help make a difference in your community.
