Join IICF in celebrating City Giving Day on 23 September
Did you know that 1 in 4 children has fewer than 10 books and 1 in 8 children in receipt of free school meals has no books of their own? Volunteer with IICF UK and Children’s Book Day to mark City Giving Day and help tackle book poverty:
- Host a Book Drive at your office during the month of September and/or
- Join IICF in volunteering with the Children’s Book Project on 23rd September
Hold a Book Drive
The Children’s Project invites you to host a book drive at your office in London, Leeds or Birmingham: Invite employees to drop off their pre-loved children’s books. Click here for guidelines and templates to help you plan and promote your book drive. Click here for details.

Volunteer with the Children’s Book Project
We’ve arranged a team volunteering day and invite you to join us. Employees from various companies will be participating, giving you an opportunity to meet new people while making a difference.
When: 9.45 am on 23 September
Where: Unit 9 Kendal Court, Kendal Avenue, Park Royal, W3 0RU near West Acton or Park Royal Tube
What will I be doing? The team day will start with an introduction to the charity followed by quality control of donated books, categorisation by reading stage and then boxing up books in bright yellow boxes ready to be sent on to new adventures with Children. Click here for details.
